FAQ’s

When do you book your sessions?
I am currently booking sessions on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays & Saturdays.  Sessions take place either in the morning (around 9:30 or 10:00ish) or later in the afternoon (2:00 or 3:00ish).  During the warm summer months, evening sessions are my FAVORITE!!!!!

Where do your sessions take place?
I really feel that doing sessions at your home is super special.  I love starting at your home and sometimes, if we feel like it, venturing to a nearby park or taking a walk around the neighborhood.  I also love finding inspiring locations all around our beautiful city, and am often enchanted by the way light dances around a lovely field of grasses.  I am always open to suggestions about outdoor locations!  If there is a place that is special to you or reflects your personality, please let me know and we’ll discuss it.

What if it rains?
As every Pacific North Westerner knows, it can be pretty wet and unpredictable 8 months out of the year!  I am a natural light only photographer and thus, a successful photo session is very much dependent on the light.  If it is raining, dark, or stormy I like to be able to make the call about whether or not to reschedule at the last minute.  I will phone or email you (let me know which is better!) within a couple of hours of your session to talk about our options.  I rely on your flexibility on this as the weather is obviously out of my control. I want to create really beautiful photographs in good light for you!

Do you offer digital negatives?
I sure do!  I believe in this day and age, having your digital negatives is such a gift!  When you purchase your digital files you are able to make your own prints up to 11×14, use them for scrapbooking, online galleries to share with friends, birth announcements, holiday cards, etc.  My Digital Collections start at $500.

I’d like further information on your prices, how can I learn more?
Take a look at the investment section of my website or blog to get an idea of my pricing.  For a more detailed price list please contact me.

Do you have a minimum order?
I do not have a minimum, however most clients budget between $1000 – $3000 for purchasing the products that best showcase the story told in their session images.

What form of payment do you accept?
Cash, checks, and Paypal payments.  I hope to be set up to accept non-paypal credit card payments sometime in the not too distant future.

When is the commission fee due?
Within 5 business days of booking to secure your session date.

Can my extended family of cousins, grandparents, etc. join in on the session?
Sure!  But there will be a different pricing structure.  The commission fee covers a session with immediate family only.  Let me know if you have an extended family session in mind and we’ll talk about pricing.

What should we wear?
I think first and foremost you and your family should wear what you feel is comfortable!  Wear what feels like YOU at your best.  That being said, clothing can really add a lot to the photos.  Upon booking I will send you more information and suggestions.

What about props?
I am all for including special items in your photographs.  A special quilt or blanket, the toy your kiddo loves more than anything right now, a lovey… Anything that is special to you and your family at this time in your lives!  One thing that is always nice to have along on a session is a blanket to sit on – so if you have something beautiful or meaningful, please bring it!   Sometimes I’ll bring along a few things that might be handy, but I’m much more interested in photographing things that are your own.

What is the ordering process?
2-3 weeks after our session your gallery will be online and available for viewing for 7 days only. Please be prepared to place your order within those 7 days as there is a $35 fee to extend your gallery.

What is the turn around time on our order?
Your order will be placed once your payment has been processed.  Please allow 4-6 weeks for the delivery of your order. In some cases it will take a touch longer (with book or album orders).

Do you offer refunds?
Due to the custom nature of my work, I am not able to offer refunds.  If we need to reschedule due to illness or inclement weather, your session fee will be used toward your rescheduled date — the portrait agreement says more about that.

I’d love to book a session with you!  What’s the next step?
Let me know!  Contact me via the contact section of my website or blog and I will get back to you with more details and possible times.
