She Saw Things » Real Life. Crazy Love.

Its official. My inconsistent blogger status. Don’t hold it against me, eh?

One warm, no HOT, summer evening, I got to photograph some of my favorite smart, powerful, creative, beautiful young ladies. These guys are my girl’s best friends, and I absolutely adore them. So much.

This girl. This month’s 10-on-10 is all about this girl who made me a mother. Who is about to graduate from elementary school. Who has one foot in adolescence and the other in little girlhood. Who is strong and tough and sensitive and tender. Who would like to stay a kid forever. Who is growing up too fast…

We took a trip out to the Coast for an afternoon over Spring Break… we arrived at the perfect time for an hour or so of a break in the rain. It started pouring just as we got back to the car. Hopped over a few towns and had fish and chips at one of our favorite spots, and then drove home. Sometimes it just takes some fresh ocean air and a pretty drive to reset your perspective a bit.

Welcome to those of you visiting for the first time via the 10-on-10 circle via the enchanting Katy Tuttle! Next up in the circle is Justine Boulin… just wait until you see the beautiful eye candy from her world she has to share!

Big love until next time…

I love your eye. I know I have said it before but I will say it again… You have such a fun way of capturing life. I bet your kids have probably one of the coolest moms on the block. Be jealous other kids… be jealous. 😉 But seriously love your work and the motion in the first frame = exceptional.

  • Heather Lindsey RobinsonMarch 11, 2014 - 1:23 am

I saw these this morning but felt like I needed to come back and take another look before I commented. You see when I look at your photographs, I feel like each and every one is a treasure. I feel like I can not possibly chose the right words to adequately describe how special they are. So, I will just end here.

  • Annie OtzenMarch 12, 2014 - 3:42 am

uggg…your photos make me miss the Pacific North West so much! #2 and #3 are just stunning. Your kids seem so fun and someday I hope to meet your beautiful family too:)

  • Ginger Ingley UnzuetaMarch 12, 2014 - 1:54 pm

Jen, I am so glad I saw this link. I love seeing into the world of others. Your life, your loves, your location. It all comes together in this unique and fascinating way for me. Something about that third image..wow. And the fog and the forest. I rarely see fog and it is mystical to me…love it. And the last one. Oh, goodness…you have a wonderful eye.

  • alana rasbachApril 10, 2014 - 8:12 pm

Um, I love everyone of these images. I just really really like your work. Succulents/plants?! Amazing. And the first image – is that a lensbaby shot? Each image here is stand alone.
